Music Video Analysis

This video is a combination of narrative and performative

The colors of the video seem to be on the cooler side for most of the video, maybe to convey that what she was doing by running away with the boy was wrong or “rebel” Then it switches at the beginning and again at the end when showing the sheets on the clothesline to a brighter color and more light.  The rhythm of the video follows the song at a rapid pace.

Some of the key moments in the video are the scenes at the beginning with the sheets hanging on the close line, and then they are repeated at the end of the video for emphasis.  These are shown in a brighter color than the rest of the video seems to be, creating a sense of alertness and you take notice.

The camera is still and moves depending on the scene.  When they show Sara singing it is still, but then when telling the story, it moves with the actors and adds drama.
